The USC Warriors appeared to have the win in the bag only to falter at endgame and lose to the USJ-R Jaguars, 67-66 on opening day of the 9th CeSAFI season. The Warriors failed to box out USJ-R's Edwin Bibera who had 2 crucial offensive rebounds and made the winning basket at the buzzer. Bibera had 10 points and 14 caroms for USJ-R and was helped by Marvin Duran's 18 points. Giovanni Padillo topscored for the Warriors with 16 points.
